Incentive Rewards

Montana Higher Education Student Assistance Corporation (MHESAC) returns excess funds generally earned on Montana's Choice loans to its borrowers.

MHESAC believes it is an appropriate way to reward Montanans for taking their loan repayment obligations seriously.

Any borrower receiving a Montana's Choice loan is immediately eligible to participate in the rewards program.

In July 2007, MHESAC distributed over $180,000 in rewards to more than 700 Montana borrowers by forgiving up to $500 of the final balance on their Montana's Choice loan.

The amount of money available for the program varies based on current financial market conditions and portfolio performance.
